Fair warning: My MT draft and preview functions are all hosed at the moment, so my only working option is "Publish". I'm pre-writing everything in Word, but you may see some screwed-up html tags here and there, since I used to rely heavily on the preview function to make sure everything looks the way I expect before publishing. So, if my entire page goes italic or something, it's because I am html-challenged. But you knew that already. :)

Okay, with that out of the way, some more bad news: My left Achilles is getting steadily worse, and running is once again out of the…erm, running. I’m so frustrated! Today was only my 4th C-to-5k workout since I started back up again, and I had to stop after the first run interval and switch to the elliptical. I had thought that if I made myself use the controlled speed and consistent, easy surface of the treadmill, I could keep the injury at bay. Apparently, I was wrong.

At this point, I’m afraid that it’s more than just tendonitis from doing too much too fast…I’m considering making an appt to have a doctor look at it, make sure it’s not a partial tear. If it is, there goes the duathlon, and possibly all other activities until it is fully healed. Even if it’s just tendonitis, I’m still not sure that I’ll be ready to run 4 miles by October. It depends on how long it needs to heal…all I really know right now is that it’s going to take more than 4.5 weeks, since that’s how long I waited this time and we all know how that turned out. Suck! Stupid ankle! Stupid calves! Stupid feet! Stupid 200-lb body!

On the bright side, today’s workout brought me to 4 hours for this week, which means $40 toward the bike fund, with 2 days left to go. I’m planning to ride 30-60 miles tomorrow, which will mean another 2-5 hours. Woohoo--I could earn $100 by Friday!
