I'm not weighing in today...I think I'm officially going to switch my weigh-in schedule to every 2 weeks. The ups and downs are too frustrating otherwise. And with the MS150 pledge challenge, I think I've paid for that same pound about 10 times over. :) At the rate I'm going, my total $1/lb donation will hit $50 by next month and I'll still be in the 190s. Well, at least it's for charity! And I did make 100 miles this week, so there's another $10. Woo!)
Anyway, this week's music is all stuff I've picked up at iTunes this week. Speaking of adding up a $1 at a time...
UPDATE: Links/files removed.
A Comet Appears - The Shins
New Slang - The Shins
See The World - Gomez
Here It Goes Again - Ok Go
You're So Damn Hot - Ok Go
And a bonus song in honor of my new truck, which has been sitting on a lot for two weeks in tree pollen season, and is absolutely filthy:
Ridin' - Chamillionaire
Right-click, save-as, try to catch me ridin' dirty. ;)

Also, have you seen Weird Al's parody of "Ridin'" -- "White and Nerdy" -- on YouTube? Pretty good stuff.

god, I don't know...maybe it has something to do with how I convert them. I didn't actually listen to these, so now I'll have to download them myself and see what's up. Maybe I'll have to select a higher quality MP3 or an unprotected AAC or something.
I haven't seen the White & Nerdy video, but I do have the song on my iPod. :)

I just downloaded a couple of these, and I'm getting them all garbled, too. I know it's not the original file, because my local copies play fine. I started using command line FTP to upload recently--maybe that's what's messing them up.
Thanks for the heads-up...I don't usually download them after I put them up, so I had no idea they were broken. I'll try uploading these with a different FTP client, see if they're better. If not, then I may have to retire Free Music Friday. :(

yep, it was the upload that was doing it. I think the default upload mode wasn't what it needed to be (but it was so much faster than what I was doing before!). I've uploaded A Comet Appears again...try downloading it and see if it works now.
After I get back from my ride, I'll replace the rest. Thanks again for letting me know!

Woohoo! It works. Thanks! I appreciate your putting the songs up, especially because sometimes they're by artists I don't listen to very often (or sometimes ever).
And I do recommend the White and Nerdy video on YouTube, if only to watch Donny Osmond dance in the background. Hilarious.
