As promised, today's music is "new" holiday music--that is, all songs were recorded after 1980.
O Holy Night - Martina McBride My favorite version of this song ever. Usually, it's done too classical for me, or that one high note gets screechy. This one manages to avoid both those things.
Christmas Carol - Skip Ewing Just enough sap.
Fairytale of New York - Pogues This was my favorite Christmas song last year. Not that it was made last year...that's just when it struck my fancy.
A Great Big Sled - The Killers I got this one from iTunes this year because it did some kind of charity donation thing. It's not bad.
I Won't Be Home for Christmas - Blink-182 Sort of the anti-carol.
Rudy - Be Good Tanyas
Christmas Canon - Trans-Siberian Orchestra
And, lest you think I've forgotten...
Kyle's Mom is a Bitch - Eric Cartman No, not really a holiday song. But considering that the plot that prompted the song involved Kyle's mom canceling the Christmas party (or something like that. I usually skip the Christmas episodes, because I just don't "get" Mr. Hankey), I'm throwing it in with the rest. Plus, it's a GREAT workout song, which sort of makes it relevant to this site as well. So there. :)
So, there they are--my Christmas gifts to you. Right-click, save-as, and safe and happy holidays to you and yours!
