It was 45 degrees outside when I got on my bike at 7:45 this morning. It's 52 now. The high is 66. For Houston, this is a mite chilly.
I was prepared for it, though...I stopped at REI on the way home last night for some full-finger gloves and a body-blinkie (with the clock change, I might be riding at dusk--best to be as visible as possible), and I made sure my knickers and long-sleeve jersey were clean when I got home. I was a little chilly at first, but felt warm enough by the time I got to work.
I've got an appointment with my personal trainer at noon today...this is the first time I've even attempted to ride to the gym. I'm a little apprehensive, because the gym is not in a great neighborhood. It's not the projects or anything, just one of those areas where things are a little rundown. The thing that makes me nervous is that there's a notice on the gym door in big bold letters to "LOCK YOUR DOORS AND DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE"(Emphasis theirs, not mine). Cycling to the gym, my vehicle is my valuable. I've got a lock, but I know that my bike will still be in the back of my mind for the entire session. Still, I kind of like the idea of getting cardio out of the way before I even get to the gym. :)
Anyway, enough about that. OPEN WIDE for this week's music.

Believe - Savatage
What I Deserve - Kelly Willis This is the song that made me a true-blue Amazon customer. I heard her sing the song live on some radio show (World Cafe, maybe?), and by the time I got around to looking for the CD, I remembered her name as Kelly Morris. When I typed this into Amazon's search function, it didn't find anything, but asked me if I meant Kelly Willis. Why yes, I did! Thank you, Amazon-bot!
Add It Up - Violent Femmes
The Warrior - Scandal Mmmm...80s.
Make Me Want to Stay - Tommy Sands
So, there ye be. Right-click, save-as, have a fabulous weekend!
