Shoot me.
On a side note--you know what's hard to find? Knee-high boots that will fit a 16" calf. I mean, I doubt that I would have bought them anyway, on the grounds that I'm not quite confident enough in my body to pull off a dress and knee-high boots. Still, I'd like to at least have the option. You'd think that a woman with a size 10 foot would be able to find a boot with a calf circumference of over 13", that's all I'm sayin'. Must be a lot of tall, skinny women out there...
Posted by Joy at November 2, 2006 02:11 PMhey, i have the same problem w/finding boots to fit my hefty calves but did find a pair the other night at macy's... they are by aerosoles, brown, stretchy, and even have extra elastic near the top... they are pretty snug now but i know they'll stretch out like my other pair did (mootsie totsie)... no real leather for me, they'd never fit... :o(

*nod* I tried on some Aerosoles, they were just a teeny bit too snug. They had a little bit of extra elastic at the top, so they may have been the same ones (though I think they were leather, so maybe not). I might have bought them anyway, but I wanted black. Sigh. Maybe I'll give Macy's a shot this weekend. Thanks!

You might try www.zappos.com. They have a boot section devoted to wide calves, with some customer comments on fit. They also have a great return policy and free shipping both ways, so no biggie if they don't fit.

Definitely try Zappos (the boots linked above are very cute!). It's the best on-line store ever.

ah, zappos.com! I was just there the other day, looking for some red sneakers. I used to have a pair of these in college, called them my Ernie shoes (a la Bert & Ernie). Don't know whatever became of them, so I was going to buy another pair. Zappos was the only place I could find them. Love that you can search by size, or color, or style...never even thought to look for boots there, though. DUH!

oh, and yes--those boots are sweet! Though I'll probably hold off on spending $200 on boots until I'm sure that I'd be brave enough to wear them outside my own closet. :)

But they are very cute. :)
