My hcg levels have plateaued at just over 38,000, the sac has gone from a perfect oval to flat on one side. It's not as far gone as our doctor was expecting to see, but the writing is on the wall--the elephant has left the building. We've tentatively scheduled a D&C for Friday. I wouldn't expect to see any posting here before then.
Thank you to everyone who commented with their good wishes and prayers these last few weeks. Even though things didn't work out the way we'd hoped, it was nice to know that you all cared.

The same thing happened to me, pregnant until the second month and then when I went to do the first examine they couldn't find a heartbeat even though my levels stayed high for another few weeks. I had to have a d/c. It'd difficult and you will mourn. I just tried to get back into shape again and I was pregnant again within a year. Mind you I was 41 yrs old with the first pregnancy and 42 with the second. You have no idea how many women this happens to, it's actually fairly common. Take care.
