It looks like all the working out and clean eating is finally starting to pay off--182.5 today, a loss of 2.5 lbs!
If I gain them back this week, I'm just going to sit down and cry.

wow--thanks for letting me know you're out there, Melani. 20 lbs...that's awesome! I'm so glad this site has helped you...that's one of the best parts of keeping this up, even when I don't feel like it--thinking that maybe others can learn good things from my experience. If nothing else, you can learn what NOT to do. :)
The exercise took a long time for me to find a balance and a routine that worked for me. I fumbled around a lot over the past 2 years, but it has been just in the past few weeks that I've felt things finally click where working out is concerned. For the first time, it's not something I'm forcing myself to do...it's something I want to do. I think that moment will come for you, too. Sounds like what you're doing is great (20 lbs!), so I wouldn't get down on yourself for missing a workout or two. I think the most important thing is to find something (or several things) you like...I used to go to aerobics/dance classes, do the WATP DVDs, etc., but I think part of the reason I didn't make them part of the routine is that I don't really LIKE doing those things. There's nothing wrong with them...they just weren't really my thing, you know? I'm a solitary, uncoordinated geek, so the solo, repetitive-movement, endurance exercises are more my speed.
It's different for everyone, I think, and you have to go with what works for you. But you probably knew that already. :)
