I'm feeling very...water retention-efficient today. The scale only said 186, but I'm having a fat day, I think. My clothes feel tight, my belly won't stop bubbling over my pants...and that isn't even a big problem area for me, usually. My breasts even look swollen to me today. I'm not even close to TOM, so that can't be it. And if it were the change in pill-taking times, I've been taking them in the morning for three days...surely my body has adjusted by now. I'm mystified.
It could have something to do with my excessive eating last night. I really need to learn to adapt to changes in plans better. I had my dinner all planned out early in the day...I was going to cook a recipe from my BHG light cookbook, have some asparagus, a glass of milk. I had even planned a dessert (slim-a-bear). Then my roommate called and asked what I wanted for dinner. Since she rarely volunteers to cook anymore, I wasn't going to refuse a free night when it presented itself. And Rob was coming over, so I could spend time with him while she did the cooking. Win-win, baby.
Of course, this meant that we weren't having low-fat fried chicken with asparagus and a slim-a-bear. We did have grilled chicken, rice, zucchini and squash, and biscuits. This, in itself, was not bad, but since it was different, I guess it flipped a switch in my weak little brain that said it was okay to eat all night long. I had a root beer. I had vanilla wafer cookies. I had about 37 points for the day, probably. Here's hoping that won't show up on the scale until Thursday.
On the bright side, I've discovered that, despite a less fancy exterior, the store on the road to work is much nicer than the one two exits down (99.9% less urine smell!). It has a pretty good Lean Cuisine selection, and I stocked up for the week--Chicken Carbonara, Sesame Chicken, Lasagna, Chicken in Peanut Sauce (I have a feeling that I am going to be so flippin' sick of chicken by next summer that I'm going to want to throw up every time I see it). I also bought one of those salad mixes, some gladware containers, some plastic forks, and a 6-pack of 1L bottles of water. And bananas. For a low-rent neighborhood grocery store, their produce actually didn't look too bad. They didn't have fuji apples, but the granny smiths they had were in pretty good shape. The salad mixes were only just starting to brown a little, and the bananas looked fresh.
I also have been really concentrating on the water the last few days. I got in 2.5L yesterday, and I'm hoping for 2L today. I haven't been drinking nearly enough lately, and I think that's part of my troubles. I'm also hoping that drinking enough water will improve my skin, which has been breaking out like crazy for weeks now.
Anyhoo, not much else going on. I'm shooting for 24 points max today, so we'll see how that goes.
This is just to let you know we have the travel journal here in Chicago. Tomorrow I'm sending it to New York! I'd send it today but no mail.
