During the week, I stuck to the training schedule laid out on the Champions Fit Website. I'm in the orange group. This week's long run results were:
Distance: 3 miles.
Time: 44:50.
Average speed: 4.0 mph -- 15min/mile.
Walked: 15 minutes
Jogged: 30 minutes
I was contemplating moving to the purple group because I was so slow last week and during training this week. When I got there this morning, though, I decided to go with the orange group for at least one more week. I really want to run in the marathon, and I know the only chance for me to do that is to stick with the group I'm in. Since I got my time per mile down under 15 minutes even going an extra mile, I'm glad I did it. I'm going to try to keep getting the pace a little better each week, and as long as I can keep doing the long runs at a 15 minute mile or better pace, I'll stay where I am. Look out Houston Marathon. Here I come.
