I work in a place that doesn't believe in casual Fridays, except during Rodeo time (cantcha tell I'm in Texas?). On weekends I'm a sweatpants and pajamas kind of girl, so most of my jeans have been lounging in my drawer unworn for several weeks.
I am blessed/cursed with what I like to call "Radle-ass"...meaning I come from a family of women with petite upper bodies and big hips and thighs. Very, very pear shaped, with most of my weight dragging along behind me. In other words, I got back. Much back. And not a whole lot of front.
This started causing problems when I got into the plus sizes and tried to buy jeans. Apparently, a lot of bigger women carry a lot more of their weight on the front than me...lower abdomen in particular. This leads jeans manufacturers to allow more roominess there and not so much in the back. So in order to get my jeans in the correct size for my ass, I end up with jeans with enough slack in the crotch to fit a whole other person in there. It bunches up and sags, and looks not-at-all flattering.
Well, a few months back, I found jeans that didn't do this so badly (Land's End relaxed fit, plus-size). I bought a pair, and up until today, they were my favorite pair of jeans. Fit in the butt and thighs without miles of surplus crotch...perfect.
I put them on today, and I noticed more leftover crotch than I remembered. A lot more. I guess that answers the question of where the weight is coming off...time to buy new jeans. (Yay!)
